Choose the Correct Office

The Chaffee County Sheriff's Office Records Division public counter is at 641 W. Third Street, P.O. Box 699, Salida, CO 81201. The counter is listed as open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and closed Friday. Call Sheriff Records at 719-539-2814 for documents or a booking-photo request. The Chaffee County Detention Center at 719-539-7150 confirms only whether a person is held and bond status. The Sheriff's non-emergency and shared dispatch number is 719-539-2596.

Use the route that matches the question:

• For a mugshot or booking record, start with the county search and request instructions, then submit a focused request to Sheriff Records.
• For a possible county warrant, use the official contact steps on the Wanted Fugitives page. The statewide docket is not a complete warrant list.
• For someone who may have just been booked, call the detention center. Chaffee County does not publish an online recent-arrest feed or jail roster.
• For a release alert, check VINELink where participation and data are available. For the final case result, contact Chaffee Combined Court at 719-539-2561.
• For Salida or Buena Vista incident reports, contact the arresting police department. Poncha Springs is policed by the Sheriff's Office.
• For a person serving a Colorado prison sentence, use the Colorado Department of Corrections offender search.
• For federal or immigration custody, use the official Federal Bureau of Prisons or ICE locator. Those systems cover different custody networks.
